Ongoing collaboration with eThekwini Municipality (eTM) continues to play a vital role in the upkeep and infrastructure management of Bridge City. During August, various departments responded to service issues, helping improve both safety and operational functionality within the precinct.
Damaged Bollards Reinstated
A notable intervention this month was the reinstatement of concrete bollards along Indlanzi Lane, which had been dislodged after being struck by delivery vehicles. These bollards are important for protecting pavements and pedestrian pathways from unauthorised vehicular encroachment, and we appreciate the swift action taken by eTM to address this.

Sewer Overflow Callouts and Request for Infrastructure Audit
Over the course of the month, the eThekwini Water and Sanitation Department (DWS) responded to four callouts to address overflowing sewer lines within the precinct. Due to the increasing frequency of such incidents, particularly over the past two weeks, the Management Association has formally requested a full audit of the sewer infrastructure to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.

Streetlight Functionality Update
Effective streetlighting remains a core priority for public safety in Bridge City. Our latest precinct-wide audit shows that 129 out of 159 streetlights are currently operational, placing the functionality rate at 81%. The Management Association continues to escalate all outstanding faults to the relevant eThekwini departments and will persist in driving resolution until full functionality is restored.
