Municipal Efforts Support Safer, More Functional Public Spaces

Throughout June, eThekwini Municipality has remained actively involved in maintaining key elements of Bridge City’s infrastructure. These interventions continue to support a safer, cleaner, and better-functioning precinct for all who live, work, and travel through the area.

Improved Streetlight Functionality

A notable achievement this month was progress on streetlight repairs, particularly within the Business Estate where most outages were concentrated. Of the 159 streetlights in the precinct, 129 are currently operational β€” bringing us to an improved functionality rate of 81%. Ongoing engagement with the relevant departments continues, with work under way to restore full functionality.

Road Marking and Repair Works

In addition to lighting upgrades, eThekwini teams have also made progress on road marking across the precinct, improving visibility and traffic flow. The municipality also addressed a section of sinking road surface, helping to prevent further deterioration and ensuring safe access for motorists.

Continued Collaboration for a Well-Maintained Precinct

These municipal interventions reflect the ongoing collaboration between the Bridge City Management Association and eThekwini departments to ensure responsive maintenance and prompt attention to infrastructure concerns.
