First day of Bridge City health screens and tests a great success

Community and Sustainability, Municipal Services

The JSI health testing and screening which began in Bridge City yesterday was a great success with health care workers screening a record amount of people and running out of HIV test kits early because of unexpected demand. Bridge City precinct manager Nwabisa Mkhize says: β€œThis demonstrates that the people of Bridge City are being proactive about their health.” The USAID-funded organisation will be doing COVID-19 screening, HIV-testing and providing other health services every Wednesday for the next three months. Those needing further assistance will be referred to JSI’s northern affiliated medical facilities in Osindisweni / Tongaat, Newtown A, Phoenix and KwaMashu.
