April marked a positive month for safety and security in Bridge City, with no reported incidents across both public and private spaces. This milestone reflects the consistent vigilance and professionalism of our on-ground security personnel, who continue to play a vital role in upholding a safe and well-managed precinct.
Security: Zero Incidents Reported
We are pleased to confirm that no security-related incidents were recorded throughout the month of April. This result is a direct outcome of ongoing patrols, proactive monitoring, and strong operational coordination from our dedicated security teams. Their presence not only helps deter crime but also reinforces public confidence in Bridge City as a secure environment for residents, commuters, and businesses.
Maintaining this standard of safety remains a key priority for the Bridge City Management Association (BCMA), and we thank our personnel for their continued efforts in creating a secure and orderly precinct.
Streetlighting Functionality: Progress Towards Full Coverage
On the infrastructure front, lighting functionality currently stands at 71.25%, with 113 of the 158 streetlights in working order across the precinct. While this reflects incremental progress, achieving full lighting coverage remains a critical focus, particularly as well-lit public spaces contribute significantly to both pedestrian safety and crime prevention.
The Management Association continues to engage with the eThekwini Municipality’s Street Lighting Department to expedite the repair of non-functional lights. These engagements are aimed at ensuring the timely delivery of stock and improved turnaround times for repairs.
Looking Ahead
Our goals for the coming months include maintaining the zero-incident rate, increasing streetlight functionality, and ensuring that all public areas remain safe, accessible, and secure. We appreciate the ongoing cooperation from municipal departments and the commitment shown by our on-site teams.
