March was a productive month for the Bridge City Management Association, with a focus on safety, visibility, and proactive maintenance across the precinct.
Enhanced Patrols Support a Low-Incident Month
Only one notable incident was reported in a public space this month, where a member of the public reported an item missing from his vehicle after returning from the hospital. There were no signs of forced entry, and the individual was advised to report the matter to the nearest SAPS station for investigation. Excellerate Tactical Units continue to conduct roaming patrols, standing down at key locations to enhance visibility, deter, and provide rapid response where needed.
Seedlings Planted, Litter Collected & Verges Maintained
Green Africa has had a productive month, tackling a variety of scheduled tasks to keep the precinct safe, clean, and visually appealing. These ongoing efforts contributed to a total of 620 bags of litter collected during the month:
- Boundary & Verge Maintenance: Work along Torvale Crescent and throughout the business estate continued, keeping bush and overgrowth under control. Road surfaces were also cleared of sand and debris that washed down during recent rains.
- Town Centre: Maintenance of verges began across the town centre, with work continuing throughout the month.
- Flower Bed Renewal: Old plants were removed, and new seedlings were installed throughout the precinct, supporting long-term greenery and vibrancy in public spaces.
- Weed Control: Green Africa sprayed hard surfaces with weed killer and herbicides.
With an emphasis on proactive maintenance, visible security patrols, and rapid response systems, BCMA remains committed to keeping the precinct safe, clean, and welcoming for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
