Maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of our precinct is a top priority for the Bridge City Management Association (BCMA). Our recent focus has been on Bhejane Road and its surrounding areas, with significant efforts from both municipal contractors and our dedicated Green Africa team.
Grass Cutting in the Town Centre
The municipally deployed grass cutting contractor has been actively working in the town centre, specifically targeting the areas around Bhejane Road. Their essential task of grass cutting ensures that our green spaces remain well-manicured and visually appealing. This work is vital in keeping our community neat and orderly, contributing to the overall aesthetic of Bridge City.
Removal of Alien Species
The team also began an important project: the removal of alien plant species that had grown significantly on Ptn 124, located at the corner of Nogwaja Street and Bhejane Road. Removing these invasive species is crucial for protecting our local ecosystem and promoting the growth of native plants. This effort helps maintain the natural balance and biodiversity of our precinct.
Verge Maintenance and Weed Removal
Our Green Africa team started verge maintenance in the town centre area, beginning on Bhejane Street. Their meticulous work included removing weeds that had been sprayed to prevent further growth. This proactive approach not only enhances the appearance of our verges but also prevents potential damage to the infrastructure caused by unchecked weed growth.
