Focused Clean-Ups, Verge Maintenance and Greening Improvements in Bridge City

Cleaning, Greening and Maintenance

April was a productive month for Bridge City’s precinct management, with our Green Africa team working consistently to maintain cleanliness and enhance public spaces despite the challenges brought on by continued rainfall. From verge maintenance to targeted clean-ups, the team tackled multiple tasks to ensure the precinct remains safe, functional and welcoming.

Ongoing Verge Maintenance and Landscaping

Verge maintenance remained a primary focus, with Green Africa attending to various overgrown and high-traffic areas throughout the precinct. Regular trimming and clearing ensure pedestrian pathways remain accessible, improve visibility for road users, and contribute to the precinct’s neat and well-managed appearance.

In addition to this, the team began replanting flower beds in key locations where vegetation growth had been underwhelming. These efforts form part of a broader landscape improvement plan aimed at revitalising the precinct with vibrant, seasonal plantings that enhance the overall visual appeal. We look forward to sharing more on this work in the months ahead.

Post-Rainfall Silt and Litter Clean-Up

With heavy rains throughout the month, the team responded swiftly to washaways, silt build-up and scattered litter across pavements and roads. This included focused sweeping and debris removal to prevent blockages in drainage systems and to keep public spaces clean, safe, and functional.

Business Estate Clean-Up

Earlier this month, special attention was also given to the Business Estate area, where the team undertook sweeping and litter removal in alleyways and walk-throughs. These efforts significantly improved the overall cleanliness of the area, particularly in spaces where litter tends to accumulate and visibility is often limited.

Looking Ahead

As the precinct transitions out of the rainy season, we will continue to focus on vegetation control, greening upgrades and preventative cleaning to keep public spaces in top condition.
