Funded by Bridge City property owners, the BCMA’s primary objective is to enable a thriving precinct that protects property values, enhances quality of life, drives investor confidence, and supports economic development. This is underpinned by creating safe, clean, well-maintained, and desirable public spaces within the precinct.
Hloniphani Mpanza precinct manager, BCMA, leads the operations teams committed to delivering these crucial supplementary services on the ground every day. This is what his typical workday looks like:
What are your main tasks during the day and what do you do on your rounds?
An average day for me begins around 8am. Before heading to the office or at some point during the day I drive around the precinct and look for anything that might be out of the ordinary. These could be anything from faulty streetlights to potholes to illegal dumping. My precinct drive is also a great opportunity to check on our security, cleaning, greening and maintenance teams ensuring they are on site and have everything they need. I also take the time to chat to them to understand how their work is going and note any issues they might raise. Any issues or faults are reported to the municipality or addressed by our on-ground teams.
Where do you lunch?
I bring my own lunch most days but occasionally I’ll head out to Chicken Licken for my fix of wings or grab a curry at one of the local curry places in Bridge City.
What do you love about your precinct?
I enjoy the fact that the precinct is going through a lot of changes especially on the construction side. This means that in a few years I’ll look back and see a completely different space. I look forward to working with my team to continue with improvements including some nice new features be it beautiful, landscaped gardens or some modern urban space structures.
Why is your precinct important to the community?
The precinct represents a change in the way townships are going to look. Once it is fully developed the Management Association will work to further enhance the experience of those living, working and investing there.
What do you love most about your role?
I love being involved in making a difference be it on the team who gets to welcome incoming new developments or engaging with various directors and influential people.
