4 Sewer Blockages Cleared and Major Upgrades by Municipality in July

Municipal Services

Municipal departments remained active across Bridge City in July, addressing infrastructure issues and progressing key projects to improve service delivery in the precinct.

4 Sewer Blockages Attended & Manhole Inspections

One of the most significant areas of activity during the month was wastewater infrastructure. This month, municipal teams:

  • Attended to four sewer blockages
  • Repaired a manhole on Nkunzana Road and conducted manhole inspections throughout the precinct

Major Sewer Upgrade & Ongoing Maintenance Projects

A key milestone for the month was the completion of the sewer line upgrade behind the hospital. The upgrade has already delivered positive results, with the recurring sewer blockage near the hospital no longer being experienced since the project was completed.

The Roads Department also continued with several maintenance projects during the month, including replacing damaged paving on Bhejane Road and Nogwaja Road and repairing a damaged stormwater inlet on Bridge City Boulevard.

Additional municipal work completed during July included cleaning of drainage infrastructure and grass cutting on the lower platform sites, completion of fencing repairs on municipal sites opposite the mall and ongoing maintenance activities across municipal-owned properties.
