What does Bridge City\u2019s poster management entail? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Posters and graffiti in Bridge City are an ongoing issue. Every week our cleaning and security teams jointly look out for new posters that have been illegally placed under bridges, on street light poles, distribution board boxes and other places. Whoever sees the illegal posters first removes them and then the cleaning, greening and maintenance team ensures that the area is properly cleaned.<\/p>\n Is there any special technique to remove unauthorised posters and graffiti?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The techniques we use to remove posters and graffiti vary depending on the surface they are on and material used to stick them up.<\/p>\n The CGM team mostly uses soapy water and a scraper or wire brush to remove posters while trying not to damage any painted surfaces. They also use turpentine to remove posters stuck down with glue. For graffiti they will paint over the area or if applicable, use a bagwash technique where mixed cement and water is applied to a bare concrete area. This usually does the trick!<\/p>\n Why is poster management important in the precinct?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Too many unregulated posters create the impression that an area is badly maintained and uncared for.
