The month of June brought a mix of planned precinct maintenance and rapid-response clean-ups in Bridge City. Thanks to the consistent efforts of the Green Africa team, the area remained well-kept despite challenging weather conditions and seasonal vegetation changes.<\/p>\n

Litter Collection and Landscape Care<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Green Africa collected a total of 450 bags of litter<\/strong> over the month, with teams systematically cleaning verges, sidewalks, and key public areas. Ongoing weeding of retaining walls<\/strong> and verge maintenance<\/strong> formed part of their regular schedule, while several gardens and islands around the precinct were also replanted<\/strong> to restore aesthetic appeal in areas with poor growth.<\/p>\n

Quick Action After the Wind Storm<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Earlier this month, a strong wind storm left its mark across the precinct, uprooting trees and scattering debris. The Green Africa team responded swiftly, clearing roads and pavements<\/strong>, removing large branches, and sweeping scattered waste to ensure safety for pedestrians and motorists. Any damage or faults were immediately logged with the relevant municipal departments for follow-up.<\/p>\n

Cleaning the iQola Road Bridge Area<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A key focus area this month was the clean-up beneath the iQola Road bridge<\/strong>\u2014an area known to be both a litter hotspot and a concern for community safety. With the site now cleared, the Bridge City Management Association will work closely with the Area-Based Management (ABM)<\/strong> unit to expand these clean-up efforts into adjacent spaces requiring attention.<\/p>\n
