{"id":11635,"date":"2024-03-08T13:07:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-08T11:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bridgecity.org.za\/site\/?p=11635"},"modified":"2024-03-08T13:07:21","modified_gmt":"2024-03-08T11:07:21","slug":"landfill-sites-opened-to-the-public-for-refuse-disposal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bridgecity.org.za\/site\/landfill-sites-opened-to-the-public-for-refuse-disposal\/","title":{"rendered":"Landfill sites opened to the public for refuse disposal"},"content":{"rendered":"<pre class=\"w-post-elm post_title us_custom_d503c3f4 entry-title color_link_inherit\"><span style=\"background-color: #ffffff; color: #424242; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 14px;\">FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/span><\/pre>\n<div class=\"w-post-elm post_content\">\n<p>8 MARCH 2024<\/p>\n<p><strong>*LANDFILL SITES OPENED TO THE PUBLIC FOR REFUSE DISPOSAL*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Due to waste collection services being disrupted because of the illegal strike action, eThekwini Municipality has opened its landfill sites to the public to dispose of their waste at no charge.<\/p>\n<p>Residents may utilise landfill sites closest to their households to drop off their domestic waste.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are allowed to bring a bakkie load of waste until normal collection resumes.\u00a0 These landfill facilities are also open to businesses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*LIST OF WASTE DISPOSAL LANDFILL SITES*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The following landfill sites are available for residents to use:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mariannhill Landfill Site \u2013 1 Landfill Lane, Mariannhill<\/li>\n<li>Bisasar Road Landfill Site \u2013 1 Dhulam Road, Springfield<\/li>\n<li>Buffelsdraai Landfill Site \u2013 1 Buffelsdraai Lane, Iqadi Farm, Verulam<\/li>\n<li>Illovu Landfill Site \u2013 Off D982 Illovo Farm, Lower Illovo<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Operational hours:<\/strong>\u00a0Monday \u2013 Friday (07:00- 16:30) Saturday and Sunday (07:00- 15:30)<\/p>\n<p>Clean-up operations in the central business districts and other areas are being conducted by the City.
